Sharing the HoPE at Thanksgiving

As we gear up for #GivingTuesday, here are a few ideas to try on Thanksgiving Day for involving your extended family in sharing the HoPE in HPE and supporting the projects of Families for HoPE:

After you count your blessings and wrestle Uncle Bob for the last piece of Grandma’s prize-winning pumpkin pie, gather everyone for a group photo and hold a sign or something that says or communicates HoPE. If you’re really adventurous, do a group video that can be shared on social media to give HoPE to other families.

Collect the pocket change from everyone at your celebration. Don’t forget to check under sofa cushions and car seats too.

Challenge family members to save all of their pocket change from Thanksgiving through Christmas. When you gather together again at Christmas, give a special gift to the person who has collected the most change, then donate all of the change to Families for HoPE at the end of the year.

For those who are shopping on Black Friday, challenge them to look for the word “hope” as they are out and about. Ask them to take a selfie with the word and post it to Facebook tagging you in the picture with the caption #gotHoPE.

These are just a few ideas to inspire you, but be creative as you want to be! Just share the HoPE and tell us and others about it on #GivingTuesday!
